Our Club

Our Mission Statement

To introduce judo to children and adults of all ages and abilities in a fun and dynamic way, offering all members avenues of opportunity through which they can enjoy a life-long enjoyment of judo. The Edinburgh Club aims to deliver the very best coaching to all our members within a safe and accessible environment.

Our club has been established for over 40 years. Today we are based in St Margaret’s House (just next to Meadowbank House) on London Road. The Edinburgh Judo Club is unique in its ability to offer coaching of the highest standard to children and adults of all ages and abilities and allows everyone to practice judo in a safe and friendly environment.

Judo is a unique sport:

  • All age groups can participate
  • Both males and females can participate
  • Most disabled persons can participate
  • It is inexpensive
  • It is a year round activity

Judo was introduced as an Olympic Sport in Tokyo 1964 and is practiced by millions of people, in many countries throughout the world. People practice Judo for many different reasons, to develop self-confidence, to meet new people, to compete, to stay in shape to name but a few. Judo is an excellent foundation for almost every other sport.

But most of all, people do Judo because it’s FUN
